Short summary of the project.
Reverse engineering, 3D CAD models, and shop-ready drawings out of Shelley, Idaho. Send me the part or a few photos and I'll send back files your machinist, printer, or fab shop can actually use.
My CAD work is all design and drawings. You take the files to whoever you like to get it made.
Got a part with no drawings? I measure it, model it, and give you a CAD file that matches.
Have an idea, a sketch, or a napkin drawing? I'll turn it into a 3D model that's ready to prototype or manufacture.
Dimensioned and toleranced drawings your shop can build from without calling you with questions.
Old paper prints or PDFs turned into editable CAD so you can finally make changes.
A note on safety-critical parts. I'm a CAD designer, not a licensed Professional Engineer, and my drawings aren't stamped or certified. If your part is load-bearing, holds pressure, is used for lifting, or could hurt someone if it fails, have a licensed PE check and approve the drawings before you build or use it.
Files set up for waterjet, plasma, laser, router, or machining, and delivered as STEPSTLDXFDWGPDFFusion 360
Most CAD designers stop at the housing. I can design what goes inside it too: the wiring, the circuit, and the code that makes it run.
Sensors, displays, buttons, motors, and data logging. I write the code and get it running on real hardware.
Clean, readable schematics and wiring diagrams for your project, control panel, or machine retrofit.
3D-printable or sheet metal housings designed around your boards, screens, ports, and buttons so everything fits the first time.
A working bench prototype so you can test your idea, show it to investors, or hand it off for production.
Low-voltage projects only (battery, USB, 12V, 24V). I don't do building wiring, line-voltage work, or life-safety systems.
Photos, measurements, or a sketch through the quote form. Local? You can drop the part off.
I build the model and drawings, then check them against the original before anything goes out.
Clean files ready for 3D printing, machining, or cutting. Keep them and use them as often as you want.
Real parts, real models. Tap any project for a closer look.
For the common jobs, you don't need to wait on a quote. Pick a package, pay, and send me your part or photos. I'll get started right away.
Brackets, spacers, knobs, caps, and other simple parts with up to about 10 features.
Drawings your machinist or fab shop can build from without calling you with questions.
Old paper prints or scanned PDFs redrawn as clean, editable CAD.
Need it fast? Add this to any package and your job moves to the front of the line.
Not sure your part fits a package? Send a quote request and I'll give you a price before you pay anything.
Get a quotePick a package and send the form. I'll confirm your part fits the package and send a secure Square payment link. Then email your photos or files to cody@lostriverdesignco.com and I'll get started.
Cut files and print files you can use in your own shop.

I'm Cody, but most people call me Moose. I live in Shelley with my family, and I've spent most of my working life around machines.
I've been working since I was 5. My grandpa was a ditch rider on the west side of town, and by the time I was 6 I was getting up at 4:30 every summer morning to ride the ditch banks with him, pulling weeds out of the canal grates so farmers could get water to their crops. He taught me that when something stops working, somebody has to show up and fix it. I grew up playing hockey too, which taught me the rest: show up, work hard, and don't quit on your team.
I've run production as a plant manager and designed and cut parts on just about every machine in a shop: OMAX waterjets, plasma tables, laser tables, CNC routers, mills, and lathes. I also went through Stiles Machinery's factory training on HOMAG CNC equipment, woodWOP programming, edgebanders, and automated panel storage. That's where I learned what a good drawing looks like: one the person at the machine can build from without calling the office.
Now I'm finishing my Electrical Engineering degree at Idaho State, focused on automation, controls, and robotics, and I work on a systems engineering team in the nuclear industry. On nights and weekends I'm usually building something, like a 6-axis robotic arm or a custom control deck for Fusion 360.
When I'm not at a desk or a workbench, I'm probably up a mountain with a bow, like in that photo.

North of here, the Big Lost River comes down out of the mountains and does something strange. It sinks into the lava fields and disappears. Most people figure that's the end of it. But the water isn't gone. It travels underground for miles and comes back up downstream, still feeding the valley.
That's how I think about the work I do. A part goes out of production, the drawings get lost, the company that made it shuts down, and people assume it's gone for good. It isn't. With some careful measuring and a little patience, I can bring it back so it keeps doing its job.
Short summary of the project.
Photos help a lot. Rough measurements help even more. I'll get back to you within one business day with a price and timeline.
You'll work directly with me.
No hand-offs or middlemen. I'm the one who answers your email and draws your part, start to finish.
